Serenade

Posted by in on 26-12-14

Mighty strains of music lift my spirit
and I feel sweet chilling tingles
of ecstatic wonder
up and down my frame.
Within my breast
vast oceans surge and foam,
heavens split asunder, fall
and Gods of man’s rich fantasy
moan and whine to see their doom.
Oh lustful Zeus, and gentle Christ,
wise, meek Buddha and learned Kung Fu Tze,
Odin does outlive you all
within my mind.
A God who though his end is near
spent his eye for wisdom dear,
who though most noble
will also pass within the current
of orchestral sound.
Odin
