As You Grow, Stranger

Cautious as fugitives that are
hesitant as insects resisting flame,
who touch a moment then resume the game
sending urgent summons from afar.
Met with shy fingers
as a ship sails into a bay
seeking refuge just a gust away,
the quest of inner peace still lingers.
Cautious creature who flies,
a young bird struggling for flight
cold and lifeless held too tight,
who blooms, turns fairer before my eyes.
