May in the Garden

Posted by in on 20-8-13

May in the blossom-dropping garden,
pug barking at butterflies, –
orange tip blinks of sunshine,
blue wings of hope and melancholy
climbing the purple lilac mountains.
Someone’s sweeping.
Bees drone in the pear tree.
Petal snow falls scatter on grass new mown.
Distant church bell’s chiming three.
Contentment.
Of all the places there are to be,
It’s here in the garden, the dog and me.
