Companionship

Posted by in on 10-1-13

I will trot beside you
In the woods of lost lives.
I will sit beside you
When you think of lost loves.
I will lie at your feet
When you wait for sleep to come.
I will rejoice and squirm and wag my tail
When those you love return.
I am your slave, I have no will but your’s.
I feed when you command
And come when you call.
I will stay leashed and led
Though my heart aches for a mate
and I shall watch head on paws
When at last you have your’s.
